ALLAH ALMIGHTY ASSIGNED US ALL A DUTY ON THE DAY OF “QÂLÛ BAL”
When people ask us, “Since when have you been Muslim?”, we all have an answer, “Since Qâlû Balâ.
In the day of Qâlû Balâ, the universe was not yet created. In that state of non-existence, Allah Almighty brought forth the descendants of Adam (PBUH) from his back, gathered all humanity in His presence, and asked the following question:
"Am I not your Lord?"
“In terms of the spirit, am I not your Lord? In terms of the soul, am I not your nurturer? In terms of the body, am I not your commander?” We all said, “QÂLÛ BAL” — “Yes, indeed, You are our Lord.”
All of us answered Allah Almighty, who asked, “Now give me your oaths. Did you hear my words?” “I hear and obey.’” On that day Allah Almighty declares that He has taken oaths from us.
-"Allah, our Owner, takes a pledge from our spirit for us to deliver and surrender it to Him while we are alive.
-Our Nurturer Allah takes an oath from our soul; for us to cleanse and purify our soul.
Allah, our commander, takes a covenant from our physical body, to be a servant to Him alone.
All of these oaths are fulfilled by a person wishing to reach Allah, by performing the prayer of need, by asking his religious guide from Allah, and by repeating the name "Allah" in succession after completing his repentance (pledging allegiance).
