MAGIC AND SORCERY

What was formerly called magic, now referred to as sorcery, is the manipulation of Allah’s verses—rearranging words, reversing parts of verses, and adding new words—to distort their true meaning. Other external factors may also come into play. In this way, the aspects of the verses that are meant to bring peace to people are altered, creating unrest instead—such as causing strife between husband and wife or spreading disturbance among people. These are the works of sorcerers.

“Notice, whenever one will exerts influence over another will without their consent, there is the occult culture present. Magic is such an act. When a person wishes harm upon someone else and goes to a sorcerer to perform magic, causing another to fall into great suffering, this is a complete violation of Allah’s commands. This is what is called occult culture; this is what is called magic.

The spirit of the imam of the time is surely formed above the heads of everyone who wished to reach Allah and pledged allegiance to their religious guide (murshid) appointed by Allah. The spirit of the imam of the time is a protective shield that magic and sorcery cannot affect any of these people.

It is impossible for any of Allah’s saints to practice magic or employ huddam. Unfortunately, some people equate jinn-practicing hodjas (shamans) with Allah’s saints, confusing the two.
