ASTROLOGY
atan and his followers, the sorcerers, established the so-called science of "astrology." In Arabic, it is called "Ilm al-Nujûm," the knowledge of the stars. They derived certain conclusions based on the moon’s passage through the 12 zodiac signs. These are not divine results; they represent a zulmânî (dark) form of knowledge.
In the past, both devils and jinn (since devils are also from the jinn category) could ascend to the heavens. Because they do not possess a spirit, they could ascend with their souls and physical bodies. However, when they began to reveal the secrets they heard above to others below, out of weakness, Allahû Tealâ forbade jinn and devils from ascending to the heavenly floors. Those who disobeyed this prohibition were struck by fire called Shihâb, which burned them, as mentioned in the HolyQur’ân
Al-Hijr-16: And I swear that We have placed constellations in the sky and beautified it for the beholders.
Al-Hijr-17: And We have guarded it from every stoned (outcast) Satan.
Al-Mulk-5: And certainly We have adorned the worldâs sky with candles and We have made them rocks for the satans (to be thrown at them). And We have prepared for them the torment of the blazing Fire.
Allah says: “We have adorned the skies of the world with candles.” These are stars. You also see that many times stars fall and then disappear. Allah prevents the jinn and devils who go beyond the limit from ascending to the sky by destroying them with a fire called a Shihâb, that is, an energy that follows and catches them.
Astrology aims to mislead people rather than guide them to the right path, claiming to tell them what will happen in the future and what they should do. Unfortunately, many people get caught up in the complex and ambiguous nature of astrology books, blindly following information whose accuracy they never question.
Al-Ma'idah-90 O you who believe (who are ĂąmenĂ»)! Wine, gambling, stone altars (idols for worship), and divination arrows are abominations of Satanâs handiwork. Stay away from these. So that you may have Salvation.
"Using divination arrows to determine one’s course is among the customs of the age of ignorance," Allah Almighty says in this verse, establishing here the command: "Do not ask Satan; ask Allah!" Our Exalted Lord explains that freeing ourselves from these harmful habits is only possible through the cleansing of the soul (nafs), saying: "Stay away from Satan's handiwork. Thus you may attain salvation."
