Overcoming Depression and Hardship: How Trusting Allah Makes the Impossible Easy

"I am a follower from social media. Esteemed teacher I am going through great hardship. I am really pushing myself into depression. As if I will never be happy again. Everything seems impossible to me. Could you please help me?" With Allah's help, is everything easy or hard? Let me give an example. During the time of Prophet Abraham, when Nimrod was in conflict with him, Nimrod said, "O Abraham, there is no path for you beyond this point." "Because I am the owner of everything and I will burn you in the fire", he said. HOW DID PROPHET ABRAHAM RESPOND? Hasbunallahu wa ni'mal wakeel. ALLAH IS MY GUARDIAN. Was Nimrod able to burn him? Pharaoh is often mentioned. He was a tyrant who lived during the time of Prophet Moses. He said, "O Moses, I do not know your Lord, and you are definitely corrupting the religion we live by." "We have such a struggle with you", he said. Prophet Moses, peace be upon him, said, "O Pharaoh, let those who follow me go. I want to live a religious life with them. Leave us be, let us go wherever we may go." And Prophet Moses set out with those who followed him. Where did he come to? To the Red Sea. And there was no path in the sea. Unlike today, there were no ships here and there either. HOW DID PROPHET MOSES RESPOND? I TRUST IN MY LORD. My Lord will surely show me a way, open a path. Did Allah Almighty open a path for Moses through the sea? What is the reason I'm telling these two stories? It seems impossible to us, doesn't it? The conditions, that they were impossible. But a path through the sea is not possible. But what is impossible for Allah? It is very easy; impossible for servants. IT IS VERY EASY FOR ALLAH But for Allah, it is very easy. So, my dear brothers and sisters, you will just say 'Allah', you will wish to reach Allah, and you will trust in Allah. The moment you truly trust, Allah who turned the fire into a cool refuge for Prophet Abraham and made it like a garden for him ALLAH REMOVES THE OBSTACLES will remove the obstacles before you as well. Our Lord, who opened a path through the sea for Prophet Moses, will also remove the finest obstacles from your way and lead you to the most beautiful destination, by the will of Allah. Nothing is impossible for Allah. Then what do you need to do? YOU WILL WISH TO REACH ALLAH You need to wish to reach Allah. And after wishing, look into your heart to see if you truly wished. Do you feel the need for a spiritual guide? For example, if a person is sick and in pain you would tell them, 'Hey friend, go to a doctor.' What would he say? Well, of course I will go. Let me say something else. We also say that if there are brothers and sisters among us who are experiencing hardship, and there are, more than 90% of people right now are uneasy, unhappy and living in distress. Then what should they do? They need to wish to reach Allah. If they wish, if he sees this request in their hearts, then the rest is up to Allah. Allah is capable of everything. It's impossible for servants. But what is it for Allah? Very easy. By the will of Allah.
