First question, who are the saints? When we look at the content of the holy Quran, we see that Allah wants all people to become his righteous servants. The word aliyah is the plural of wii which means a saint of Allah. So aliyah refers to the saints of Allah. When we look at creation, we see that Allah Almighty mentions in the holy Quran that the closest being he chose is the human beings. He wants all people to become his saints. However, human beings possess free will. If a person uses their free will as Allah commands and wishes to reach Allah, they become a saint of Allah with a single wish. However, that does not mean they have reached the level of a returned saint. So why did we make a wish? Because if a person wishes to reach Allah with their heart according to surah Ashur: 13, Allah declares that he will deliver their spirit towards him. Allah Almighty does not use time or space. Therefore, the responsibility lies with us. We should wish to reach. As soon as Allah sees this request in our hearts, at the moment we wish, we become Allah's saints. But when Allah delivers our spirits to reach him in a very short time, within a period of 7 to 8 months, Allah will deliver our spirits to himself. Being a returned saint means having our spirit delivered to Allah before death. This is also what Allah desires. He wants all people to become the returned saints.
